Cannon County Schools to Dismiss at 1 PM on Thu., Feb. 17, 2022, Due to Severe Weather Threat

ESP Afterschool Program Cancelled and ALL Athletic Events Postponed

WOODBURY: Cannon County Schools will dismiss at 1 PM today, Thu., Feb. 17, 2022, due to the threat of severe weather moving into Cannon County this afternoon. Director of Cannon County Schools, William Freddy Curtis said, “Cannon County is in an elevated category for severe weather later this Thursday afternoon, and we desire to have our students safely at home before this severe weather moves into our area. Buses will leave Cannon County High School at 1 PM and arrive at our elementary schools at approximately 1:15 PM. Parent pickup will be available starting at 12:45 PM at each elementary school.”

In a related matter, due to the threat of severe weather today, the Cannon County Schools ESP Afterschool Program is cancelled, and all after-school athletic practices, and games are cancelled for Thu., Feb. 17, 2022. Elementary basketball games that were scheduled for tonight will be rescheduled by their respective home schools and will be announced later by those schools. Cannon County Schools apologizes for any inconvenience, and the safety of our students and personnel is always our utmost priority.
