Cannon County Board of Education Issues Proposed Student Zoning Map for 2022-23 School Year

WOODBURY: The Cannon County Board of Education announces a proposed preliminary rough draft zoning map for the 2022-23 school year for informational purposes. This proposed preliminary rough draft zoning map will be discussed at the Mar. 8, 2022, 6 PM Cannon County Board of Education workshop, at 301 W. Main St., Woodbury, TN 37190, and acted on at the Cannon County Board of Education meeting on Thu., Mar. 10, 2022, 6 PM, at Woodbury Grammar School cafeteria, 530 W. Adams St., Woodbury, TN 37190. Also being discussed at the workshop – and possibly revised at the March regular monthly meeting – is Cannon County Board of Education policy 6.206, transfers within the system.    

Director of Cannon County Schools and Secretary to the Cannon County Board of Education said, “This zoning map is a proposed preliminary rough draft document that the Cannon County Board of Education has asked Cannon County Schools personnel to prepare in preparation for the 2022-23 school year, as the result of the Cannon County Board of Education restructuring and modernization five-year plan. This proposal is subject to change, as needed, by the Cannon County Board of Education.”

PROPOSED PRELIMINARY ROUGH DRAFT CCS ZONING MAP

2022-23 school year

Pink color: Cannon North Elementary School (pre-kindergarten – fifth grade), (total estimated students, 230 students and an approximate building capacity of 325 students).

Blue color: Cannon County Elementary School (pre-kindergarten – fifth grade), (total estimated students, 234 pre-kindergarten – fifth grade students).

Cannon County Middle School (temporarily located at Cannon County Elementary School = 403 sixth-eighth grade students); all sixth, seventh, and eighth grade students will attend Cannon County Middle School, a total of 637 students, with an approximate building capacity with CCES/CCMS of 700 students).

Green color: Cannon South Elementary School (pre-kindergarten – fifth grade,) (total estimated students = 374 students and an approximate building capacity of 400 students).
