Three people need to be thanked very much for replacing the flag on the courthouse today.
Roy Sullivan for making the climb, hanging on the side of the cupola and for taking down the worn flag and replacing it with the new one. His training and certifications come in handy for projects like this. He is very kind to assist the county when we are in need.
Ivan Fisher who helped Roy with the ropes and ladders and maintenance of the flag pole and everything else that was needed. Ivan was inside where the bell is located so even if you didn’t see him in the pictures, he was still there and we are lucky to have him working for the county.
Finally, Mitzi White Walkup for donating the new 5X8 flag to replace the old 3X5 flag in honor of her son 1st LT Frank B. Walkup IV who was killed in Iraq and her late husband SSG Frank B. Walkup III. Thank you Mitzi for the flag and you can see it fly when you come by every day and know that they are remembered!
