COVID-19 Vaccine Update 1

In advance of the arrival of the COVID-19 vaccine in Tennessee, the County has received some updates as to the expected timeline, available resources, and perhaps the most frequent question is when can the general public can expect to be able to receive the vaccine. The expectation is that the first allocation of the Pfizer vaccine should arrive in Tennessee in mid-December, following approval of the Emergency Use Authorization by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Cannon County can anticipate receipt of vaccines on a rolling basis and will provide the vaccine to individuals according to the Tennessee Department of Health Vaccine Plan as vaccines become available. The County does not have exact time frames at this point, but we will share the information as we receive it.

While it is great news on the vaccine front, it is critical that Cannon County residents continue to adhere to public health recommendations to physically distance, wear a face covering, wash hands frequently, get tested if exposed or symptomatic, and self-quarantine or self-isolate when exposed to or diagnosed with infection.
