WOODBURY: The Cannon County Board of Education selected a budget advisory committee at its regular monthly meeting on Thu., Nov. 11, 2022.
The revised committee consist of the five members of the Cannon County Board of Education (Wade McMackins, Rebecca Tramel, Derrick Mullins, Jessica Curtis, and Chairman Aletha Thomas), William Freddy Curtis, Director of Cannon County Schools; Cannon County Commissioners Kristal Alexander and Randy Gannon; two Cannon County Finance Department representatives and two Cannon County community members with financial expertise, Amy Brandon and Ronald T. Regan; for a total of 12 members.
The Cannon County Board of Education Budget Advisory Committee was first suggested by the Cannon County Finance Department to assist with the budget process. The first meeting will consist of: introduction of members; review of the budget process with approximate timeline; review of Cannon County Schools vision, mission, goals, and beliefs; report regarding the revised strategic plan, with recommendations from Cannon County Schools; and review and input regarding the five-year plan readjustment. The first committee workshop will meet Tue., Nov. 15, 2022 at 6 PM in the Cannon County Elementary/Cannon County Middle School cafeteria, 530 West Adams St., Woodbury, TN 37190. This meeting will be available via ZOOM.
